Introduction

Shenzhen Institute of Terahertz Technology and Innovation (hereinafter referred to as SITTI) is located at the headquarter of China Communication Technology Co., Ltd (CCT), Huaxunark Mobile Broadband Industrial Park, Xixiang, Bao'an district. Considering the new trends of the integration of science and technology, the cross-synthesis of different subjects, the cluster of technology industry, the indexation of the development of science and technology, and the innovation competition has essentially evolved into the innovation system competition, under the high attention and support of Shenzhen Municipal Government, with the support of National Cooperative Innovation Centre of THz, Tianjin University, Shenzhen University and CAS, SITTI was found by CCT. SITTI implements the president responsibility system under the leadership of the board of directors. An academician of CAS, Mr. Liu Shenggang was hired as Dean of SITTI. SITTI will act as the communication bridge between Chinese and overseas experts of the field of THz and trace the cutting-edge THz technologies and relevant scientific research achievements. It will become the platform of the commercialization of research achievements and industry incubation. It aims at facilitating the industrialization of the advanced research achievements in the field of THz from home and abroad and promoting the economic transition and sustainable development of the international trade.

SITTI is focusing on the construction of innovation system, taking an open development strategy which is collaborating with the first-class universities and scientific research institutions, gathering first-class talents, creating first-class scientific and technological achievements and nurturing first-class hi-tech enterprises. The goal of SITTI is to become the top international THz science and technology center, the resource center of THz scientific and technological achievements, the facilitator for the progression of the industry and technology, and the innovative center for the technology and product of the enterprise. SITTI is oriented by the technological innovation of MW-MMW-THZ, adopts the mode of innovative application plus fund, promotes the deep integration of knowledge, technology, product and industry, and constructs the innovation chain on basis of the industry chain. SITTI is devoted to become a novel innovative research institution.

As a non-profit private organization , the institute relies on the Guangdong academician expert workstation and formed by well-known experts from home and abroad that responsible for the technological guidance and standard setting in the field of terahertz, and a professional R&D team was formed by a group of doctors and masters from home and abroad. The institute will strengthen the communication and cooperation with more R&D institutions in the field of THz from home and abroad so as to promote the upstream and downstream industry chain in the field of THz. Advanced experiment platform, instrument and equipment is the vital foundation for the R&D of terahertz technology. Currently, the institute consists of the THz spectroscopy and imaging center, THz radiation and detection center, the THz communication center, the THz devices & system testing center and comprehensive management department, with a total area of more than 3000 .The total value of the fixed assets is more than 100 million Yuan. Currently, the institute is equipped with the most advanced device such as vector network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, Raman spectrometer and terahertz spectrometer. Currently, the THz 3D holographic active body scanner, the THz biological spectrum detector and THz communication products have been developed independently by the institute and attained the staged achievement. The institute would launch more THz products target on the market in the future.
